ABOUT ME & MY APPROACH
I have extensive experience working with both individuals and couples on a wide range of issues from relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression and loss and grief. I offer counselling to those who are struggling to come to terms with the loss of a relationship and struggling to move forward with their life as a single person.
My more senior age experience has facilitated an easy relationship with clients of all ages. This helps me in developing a connection with the client that is built on respect and honesty.
The core philosophy of my practice comes from my training in Gestalt Psychotherapy. It is the integrity, the oneness of mind, spirit and body and importantly our environment. At the core of Gestalt Therapy is the holistic view that people are intricately linked to and influenced by their environments and that all people strive toward growth and balance.
Gestalt therapy also recognizes that forcing a person to change paradoxically results in further distress and fragmentation. Rather, change results from acceptance of what is. Thus, therapy sessions focus on helping people learn to become more self-aware and to accept and trust in their feelings and experiences to alleviate distress.
Paul supports healing and growth with compassion.
