ABOUT ME & MY APPROACH
I am a mindful advanced and autonomous mental health practitioner. I hold a senior position within the HSE as a full-time psychotherapist and mental health professional.
I have been working in the Irish public mental health service for over 22 years and have an extensive track record on diagnosing and treating mental health related problems in my daily clinics. I worked previously as a Clinical Nurse specialist in Liaison Psychiatry and Community Mental Health, I use a person-centered, integrative approach.
Psychotherapy is an evidence-based practice, personally, an eclectic mix of client-centered work, cognitive psychotherapy, schema therapy, and mindfulness-based work.
I offer an approach which explores a clients’ inner world, how they got to where they are today, and what would be the best way forward for each individual.
I offer psychotherapy which allows for emotional exploration through an attitude of acceptance and compassion, exploring a client's inner world and thus making sense of the present moment. My previous research focused on psychotherapeutic interventions for mental health nurses and recently on therapists presence in the therapeutic relationship.
