ABOUT ME & MY APPROACH
Áine has been working with Individuals and Couples of varied ages, backgrounds and cultures since 2013. During this time, she has helped clients work through a range of areas/issues including Anxiety, Depression, Bereavement/Loss, Relationship Issues, Workplace Distress, Trauma, Sexuality, Self-Esteem Issues and Self-Care. Áine strongly believes in and is guided by the principles of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. She believes that every client has a choice, responsibility and creativity to bring about their own healing with a holistic approach. She recognises that the therapeutic relationship as central to this process and welcomes every client with warmth and acceptance.
Áine also has over 14 year’s experience working in the NGO and non-profit sector as a practitioner and manager; working with individuals from diverse backgrounds experiencing Trauma and various forms of Loss. Having managed complex multidisciplinary Social Care teams in the Homelessness sector for over a decade, Áine believes everyone has a right to social justice, equality and dignity.
To deepen the therapeutic process and move towards the active exploration of the client’s experience, Áine uses an integrative approach, focusing on the client’s individual needs.
Áine’s Qualifications & Education
Áine holds a MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Northampton, a Professional Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre, and a Honours Bachelors Degree from Queen’s University Belfast
Áine is an accredited member of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and abides by their code of ethics. She attends training workshops and seminars to further her professional development, and has regular supervision.
